Levels of Outpatient Care
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Often referred to as day treatment, PHP offers the highest level of support among outpatient options. It’s best suited for those experiencing unstable medical conditions or requiring advanced psychiatric care. Because of its intensity, this level of care requires the most hours of any outpatient program, typically involving 25 or more hours of treatment per week.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
For more intense treatment, IOPs may be recommended and normally include nine to 15 hours of treatment each week. These programs can be helpful to those who have relapsed after years of sobriety, or individuals who may be in the earlier stages of addiction.

Benefits of Outpatient Treatment
If you’re exploring recovery options that fit into your lifestyle, our PHPs and IOPs may be the right path. Take a look at the key benefits:
- Maintain Your Routine – Outpatient treatment is ideal for those with work, family, or other important responsibilities. It offers a more flexible approach than inpatient care, allowing you to receive support without pausing your daily life.
- More Cost-Effective – Inpatient treatment and other intensive rehab options typically come with higher costs than outpatient care. Without the need for 24/7 supervision or a residential stay, outpatient treatment is generally more affordable.
- Confidential Care – Get the help you need while keeping your day-to-day life intact. Outpatient treatment offers a private, low-disruption path to recovery.
- Access to Resources – Continued connection to case managers, mental health specialists, and relapse prevention tools.
