The Benefits of our Intensive Outpatient Programs
Compared to Partial Hospitalization Programs, IOPs are typically more affordable and less intense. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t as effective: By combining individual and group therapy, family support services, and relapse prevention with medication management, these programs support you at every step on your path to recovery. And, since they don’t require you to stay overnight, they’re easier to make time for among work and home life.
At our San Diego outpatient treatment center, each IOP begins with an assessment to determine your particular goals. Our expert team then tailors a care plan to your specific circumstances — your lifestyle, responsibilities, and more. For us, time isn’t what matters. Your recovery is, during treatment and beyond.
Finding the Right
Intensive Outpatient Program
In any of our IOPs — whether addressing mental health challenges or substance abuse — you can expect 9-15 weekly hours of treatment, broken out across 3-5 days and continuing for several weeks. Our in-house professionals will build you a holistic care plan rooted in proven methodologies, but the specifics will vary based on your needs. Below, you’ll find a list of the conditions we treat at our San Diego outpatient rehab center.
How We Provide Intensive Outpatient Care
Apex Recovery’s flexible rehab programs boil down to three steps: an initial consultation that helps us create your personalized care plan; treatment and therapy to help you overcome whatever challenge you’re facing; and post-treatment support for sustainable success.
Whether we see you in person at our San Diego outpatient rehab center or work with you via telehealth, you can trust that our trained experts will use evidence-backed treatments to help you achieve sobriety. Some include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
- Dual diagnosis treatment
- Medication-assisted treatment
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOPs offer a structured level of care that includes several hours of therapy and support each week, while still allowing you to live at home. They’re often a valuable next step for those transitioning from inpatient treatment. If you’re managing your symptoms but still need ongoing support, an IOP can provide the consistency and accountability needed for continued progress.
IOP FAQs
If you are unable to manage your symptoms with traditional outpatient therapy, but need more flexibility than a PHP, an IOP could be the right fit for you. Our intensive outpatient program provides the structure needed to address addiction and mental health challenges effectively—while still giving you the flexibility to manage daily responsibilities.
IOPs typically require fewer hours of daily treatment than PHPs. However, the full program can still take several weeks to complete. We recommend reaching out to one of our addiction treatment specialists to discuss your specific needs.
IOPs are usually more affordable than PHPs given the less intense nature of the treatment. These programs support your progress at every phase with the use of a wide range of therapies and strategies—all while still fitting into your real-world routine.
